Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, And Jeon So Nee Dish On Their "Melo Movie" Characters
The cast of Netflix’s upcoming drama “Melo Movie” recently participated in a photo shoot with the fashion magazine ELLE Korea! The photo shoot captures the sincere yet quirky facial expressions of four young adults—Choi Woo Shik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, and Jeon So Nee—in love, highlighting their unique charms. In an interview that followed the photo shoot, Choi Woo Shik, who plays Ko Gyeom, a popular critic, connected with the show’s logline: “Ambiguous youths who want to achieve both love and dreams discover and inspire each other.” He shared, “If being young means taking breaks when you need to and working hard when it’s time, all while moving forward, then I think I’m still in my youth.” Park Bo Young, who plays the role of film director Kim Mu Bee, shared her thoughts on the character, saying, “Movie has grown a lot of thorns while trying to protect herself. I think she is a character that can encourage youths in similar situations, showing that we have the strength within ourselves to break free from the things that torment us.” Lee Jun Young, who plays composer Hong Si Jun, shared his thoughts on the role, saying, “There’s a line Si Jun says: ‘I know I don’t have talent, but I feel so foolish for still doing this.’ While portraying a character who tries to overcome a lack of talent through sheer effort, I found myself healing a lot from situations I had experienced in the past.” Jeon So Nee, who plays screenwriter Son Ju A, spoke about her character, saying, “Personally, I imagined Ju A as a writer who leans more toward romantic elements. I think people change and grow the most when they experience love, which is why she would be drawn to such stories. I also believe the emotions that first inspired Ju A to write stemmed from that as well.” She added, “I’m curious to see how much people will relate to Ju A’s inner journey,” raising anticipation for her character. “Melo Movie” delves into the lives of young individuals who are used to always pretending to be fine in the face of hardships. Now, they aspire to experience love and fulfill their dreams yet find themselves drained and exhausted from the relentless hardships they endure. Their full pictorial and interview can be found in the February issue of ELLE Korea. Check out the latest teaser for the drama here!
